Wedded Wednesday – What To Wear The Morning Of

Picture the scene ladies, the big day has arrived, everyone is smiling and supping on champers. Hair and Makeup is being perfected and everyone is laughing and having fun.

What are you wearing though?

You won’t be hanging around your house/hotel room in your wedding dress – that is for sure!

You will need something comfortable but pretty to wear while you are getting ready. This goes for Bridesmaids and Moms too!

It’s really important to remember your beautiful hair and makeup too…there’s no point in spending hours getting ready, only to have a struggle to get a hoodie over your head afterwards!

I would recommend loose tops – it will be warm no matter what time of the year(just think a room full of hairdryers!), and you do not want to be a sweaty mess before you’ve even got your dress on!

Make sure the top can be pulled down, and that it doesn’t need to go over your head.

Remember to put something on your feet too – just not something that will rub off your tan! Socks are a no no!

I love the idea of dressing gowns, there are loads of options out there, but these personalised ones are just gorgeous!

Loose fitting bottoms are also a must – again for the tan lines!

What about a loose fitting playsuit? It can button off, and you will look cute for the house photos.

Remember your photographer will be wherever you are getting ready too, so it’s good to be prepared.

That’s all for this week.

Happy planning ladies!

40 Days Without Shopping- The End

Finally after the longest time ever, it’s over! I’m currently in between a chocolate and a shopping induced coma. ๐Ÿ˜Š I’m back trawling through my favourite sites munching on Easter eggs. Bliss.
Some things I have learned:
1. I have will power (as long as I’m not physically in a shop)
2. I use shopping as an emotional crutch
3. I’m completely addicted to shopping

Overall though, I’m quite proud of myself. I didn’t think I would last anywhere near as long as I did. 2 slip ups in that much time would have been unthinkable only a few months ago.

To top it all off, Miss Selfridge have an up to 30% off all dresses sale on right now!!

Thanks for following me on this journey, and make sure you come back to WhatClaireLoves.com often to see what I’m up to!

Until next time, Happy Easter!

Alice, Alice, Who is Lavish Alice?

Lavish Alice is a stunning brand that I came across last year.
They are UK based and a big favourite with bloggers and celebs, Michelle Keegan and Millie Mackintosh to name but a few!
You can buy direct at Lavish Alice, from ASOS or many independent retailers. They are also looking to expand into department stores!
Their pieces are always beautiful, with interesting hem lines, and pretty prints. They do gorgeous party and occasion wear๐Ÿ˜
Here are a few pieces that I’m currently drooling over..

40 Days Without Shopping- Day 25

I find myself using every excuse possible to just buy something. It’s my sisters birthday today and of course I had to buy her a present, but never have I taken so much pleasure in buying someone else a gift. As I get out of my car my heart starts to race. The closer I get to the shop, the bigger the smile gets on my face. I look like a lunatic and there are butterflies in my tummy. Seriously what is wrong with me?! At this stage it’s not even the length of the shopping ban, it’s more the idea that I’m not allowed do something, so therefore I want to do it even more. This reminds me of my 16 year old self smoking behind my parents back. Half the reason I did it was because of the buzz of ‘maybe getting caught’. The high I get from shopping is strange. Exciting and calming all at once. Maybe it’s a drug?

Until next time shopaholics,

Claire

40 Days Without Shopping – Day 20

So yesterday I had a slip up. Not just a small slip up, a massive one! ๐Ÿ˜ญ
I was in Manchester with the girls on a hen party, and the shopping was just too good. Now I didn’t buy anything too frivolous, just some essentials (MAC and River Island๐Ÿ˜‚) However, I have picked myself up, dusted myself off, and am back on the No Shopping road.
I am disappointed, but it just goes to show that we are all human (and that I’m seriously addicted to shopping!!).
The girls are trying to console me with the fact that it was a Sunday, and apparently Sunday’s don’t count??! I’m not so sure about that!!
Wish me luck for the rest of my sentence…20 more days.

Until next time!

40 Days Without Shopping – Day 16

Well ladies, I’m not far off the half way mark! The time is going surprisingly quickly, although the last week was particularly tough. I’ve been at home sick, hence the very sparse blogging, and we all know there is only so much day time TV you can watch! So this week I really REALLY was tempted. I stuck it out though, although I have started a wish list of some fabulous pieces, for once the 40 Days are up๐Ÿ˜‚

This weekend will be a super test, I’m off to Manchester for my friends Hen, and I’m told that the shopping is divine!

Here are a few things that I am currently dreaming of…all from Lavish Alice

Until next time

Thank You!

WhatClaireLoves.com has now reached 4,000 hits. To say I am proud, happy, delighted is an understatement. When I started writing this blog I wondered would anyone actually read it, and if I’m honest I still wonder, but people (you!) are reading it, and it’s great! I’m delighted! Writing is something I love doing, English used to be my best subject in school, and I loved the creative writing the most. I hadn’t written anything for years, but after my wedding, I found I had more spare time, and wanted a project to get involved in. I had been mulling the idea of a blog over for a few months, even before the wedding, but there was way too much going on at the time to really give it some serious consideration. So, late last October, I sat down with my Hubbie and said right, off the top of my head I can think of 10 things right now I want to write about, and he said go for it. That was the encouragement I needed. That was a Sunday evening, and by that night I had setup WhatClaireLoves.com and the facebook page, and written the first post. Anyway, here we are, 4 months later and I am proudly writing a Thank You for helping me to reach 4,000 hits.
Here’s to the next 4,000!

40 Days Without Shopping – Day 2

The Universe is taunting me! I got a delivery today from Boohoo of the final bits and pieces for my friends 80s themed hen, which I am very excited for!! Anyway, included in this was a Golden Ticket. I never win anything.. #famouslastwords Of course I win here ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ 10% off my next order. It’s literally burning a hole in my pocket. I so badly want to spend it. Lucky for me the expiry isn’t until April so I can use it after Lent.
Then, to add insult to injury, Miss Selfridge go and have a 25% online sale today! Is this for real?! Am I in a parallel universe?๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

This is more difficult than I thought it would be, and it’s only Day 2…sigh.

This weekend should be interesting!

Wish me luck,
Claire

40 Days Without Shopping – Day 1

Happy Ash Wednesday everyone!

As you will all know, today is the first day of Lent. Traditionally a time when people give up something, or many things, that they really love.

For me, that one thing, is shopping. I love it. I shop when I’m happy, sad, bored, lonely, excited, tired, you name an emotion and I will shop during it. Online shopping is a particularly dangerous habit for me. It’s just too accessible!

To say these 40 days are going to be tough is an understatement, but I’m going to give it a go!

I’ll be updating on a regular basis, so make sure to check back and see how I’m doing.

Wish me luck!!
